Nolden Banks, 91 passed away on March 10, 2022, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.  He was born on April 4, 1930 in Tucker, Arkansas to Roosevelt Banks Sr. & Rosie Thomas Banks. Nolden obtained a high school G.E.D. and joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and served for 20 years.  During his service he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Award and Good Conduct Medal.  He achieved the rank of PSGT/E-7.  Nolden served and fought in the Korean War.  He was an Armored Crewman and Tank Commander of M60A1Tanks during the Vietnam War.

Nolden began work for the Jones Store Company as an Inventory Specialist-China where he worked for many years.  He retired in 1993 after 21 years of service.  Nolden was also active in playing Bingo, walking and exercising.

Nolden married Carrie Banks on December 28, 1958 in Ft. Riley, KS.  They were married for 21 years.

Nolden was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Banks Sr. and Rosie Johnson, his former spouse, Carrie Banks; daughter Bari Banks, brother, Roosevelt Banks, Jr., two sisters, Helen Bontemps and Mabel Hill and one grandson, Jacques Gordon.

Nolden Banks is survived by his daughters Barbara Graham of KCMO; Bonnie Banks of Lenexa, KS; son, Nolden Christopher Banks of Edmond, Oklahoma; one granddaughter Tara Banks of KCMO; eight grandsons; Dorien Banks of KCMO; Desmond Banks of Boise, ID; Nolden C. Banks Jr., Edmond, OK; Sean Gordon, Sabir Gordon, Willard J. Graham, III and Andre Graham all of Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area; 20 great-grandchildren; friend, Billy Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.
