Nysa Jeannette Tanner was born February 25, 1974 to the union of Jeanellen Howard and Charles Anthony DePreist. Nysa was an only child. But, was raised by her Grandmother, Carolyn Mitchell and had an Aunt and Uncles whom she was niece and sister too. Nysa work in the community at ReStart for a while and other community-based jobs. She was educated in Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. Nysa had a passion to help others in need. Nysa ended this earthy life and bidded us farewell on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the age of 45. Nysa accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Rescue Baptist Church. She served faithfully and was instrumental in leading many family members and friends to Christ. Nysa had a spirit of Praise and Worship and anyone who met her knew she loved the Lord. Nysa would share how good God was to her. She taught her grandchildren to sing gospel songs and anyone who was at her home knew she loved the Gospel. Nysa was well- known for her daily morning Praise and Worship. Nysa was an excellent cook and enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren. One of many things that will be missed about Nysa is her beautiful spirit and presence. She was also known for her cleanliness. Nysa would run you out of the house with the overwhelming smell of cleaning supplies. Nysa was married to Paul Tanner and they welcomed six beautiful children. Reggie Thompson, Niesha Minor, Carolyn Howard, Jamal Tanner, Corey Tanner and DeAnthony Tanner. Preceded her in death: Her, Mother Jeanellen Howard, Grandmother Eulene Massey-Howard and Granddaughter Jada Howard. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: Her companion, Michael Rawls, father Charles Anthony Depriest, Grandmother Carolyn Mitchell, Children: Reginald Thompson, Niesha Minor (Richard), Carolyn Howard, Jamal Tanner, Corey Tanner and DeAnthony Tanner, step-son Paul Tanner Jr.; 14 grandchildren, aunties, uncles, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
