Ora Mae Henry. was born on September 14. 1943, in Pulaski, Ora Mae grew up in Cairo, Ill where she received her education at Saint Columba Catholic Church and the Cairo Public Schools. Ora Mae accepted Christ at an early age at and was baptized the 3rd of December 1954, Officiating priest Rev. D.J Cannon SMA. After getting her education she landed her first job of many in Muncie, IN which she would keep for many years. She then moved her family to Decatur, IL where she would work and raise her children only to decide that she wanted to move again. She moved to California in 1974 and became the Lead Dietitian at Pilgram Tower North: Pasadena, CA. Later in her life she moved to Kansas City, MO where she retired as an Environmental Specialist at Saint Joseph Medical Center. Ora Mae had a passionate about serving and supporting others.
When Ora had her first child, Vickie, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Ora excelled at motherhood and was the foundation to her family, through and through. She was an excellent cook, always knew the right things to say, never missed a special date and picked the best spots to travel and spend time with her children. Weather it was traveling to see family or just to get a way and take a vacation, Ora Mae has miles and 1000’s of miles under her belt that nobody is going to catch up too. She would pack all her children in a car in a heartbeat, get on the road and drive wherever she set her mind too.
Ora Mae was predeceased by parents James Lee and Lucille Cherry, her husband Autry Henry Sr, her son, Don Sutton. She is survived by her sister Wilhelmina Mock, Fort Wayne, IN: her children Vickie Hammond (Larry Hammond) Overland Park, KS; Marjorie Lewis (James Lewis Sr.) Kansas City, MO; Donald Sutton (Sonya Sutton) Overland Park, KS; Frank Sutton Sr. (Evelyn Sutton) Overland Park; KS, Victor Sutton (Charlene Sutton) Overland Park, KS; Mark Sutton, (Beverly Jones) Los Angeles, CA; Carla Sutton ( Johnny Smith), Los Angels CA; Anthony “Tony” Sutton (Carol Sutton) El Paso, TX ; Lavette Henry, Dallas, GA. a host of grand, great grand and great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephew family and friends.
