Pamela J. Vaughn, fondly known as “Pam”, was born January 3, 1953 to Edward J. Vaughn, Sr. and Gloria E. Vaughn (Bibbs) in Kansas City, KS. She was the youngest child of this union and was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Michael Hayden, Jr.
Pam accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and at the time of her death she was a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. She was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District and graduated from East High School, Class of 1971. Her only pride and “Joi” was born in 1975, a few years later she relocated to Dallas, TX. She worked in IT Divisions for the Securities Industry her entire life holding the position of Security Systems Software Engineer. She held positions at ARCO Oil, IBM, Dell, Core Logic, ATOS and BNY Mellon to name a few. One of her greatest accomplishments was helping get the financial industry running after 911.
Pam was a Breast Cancer Survivor and an advocate for those that are economically disadvantaged with this illness. She was always encouraging women to get their mammograms done. She was a part of Common Cares, one of the largest support groups in the Dallas area for survivors of Breast Cancer. She was quoted saying “I thank God when I wake up and feel good: I thank God when I wake up and don’t feel good” acknowledging her strength as she went through her journey. An award recipient for writing a grant to help those in need she was featured in; The Dallas Morning Newspaper, Today’s Dallas Woman and “O” magazines.
Pam loved her family, friends and had a passion for photography and art. Always holding a camera in her hands, she loved going to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden taking pictures of God’s wonderful creations. That wasn’t the only thing she loved, electronics was at the top of her list, of course! She loved the latest and greatest in technology, she had the best of it all. She was stylish with a little edge and to top it off she put her Pam spin on it.
