Larry Ray Lacy was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 11, 1950 to Thurman Lacy, Sr. and Helen I. Jackson. His father, Thurman Lacy, Sr. and brother Thurman Lacy, Jr. proceeded him in death. His formal education was in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District. He received his GED in 1977 from Lincoln University, he obtained his Associate's Degree in 1979 from Lincoln University, and in 1981 graduated with his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Larry accepted Christ on March 3, 1988. He was baptized in a lake in San Diego, CA by Bishop Joseph Conning on March 18, 1988. He was ordained as a minister, July 26, 1989. He was ordained as an Elder, July 25, 1995. He was installed as Pastor of Greater Revelations on May 5, 2000. Larry was a hard worker. He was employed by Owens and Corning, Kansas City Public School District, and Ford Motor Company. His most important job was that of Pastor. He served as pastor of Greater Revelations Church for seventeen years. Pastor Lacy loved fishing and hosting “cook outs” for family and friends. Larry loved music and could often be found singing and playing his instruments! He was passionate about MINISTRY! He visited the sick and shut in weekly and often could be found ministering to those who were incarcerated. He had an undying love for his family and God’s people. He didn’t care what your story was; he would listen and extend sound, Godly advice. He had an amazing way with people! He was affectionately known as “Lacy,” “Baby,” “PaPa,” “Buddy,” “Daddy,” “Right-Hand Man,” “Brother in Law,” and “Son.” He will truly be missed.
