Patricia Loretta Parker was born on August 4, 1948, to Earl and Josephine Parker. She was he 3rd of 5 children in total. She attended Douglas Elementary, Switzer Elementary, and West Jr. High School. She graduated from Manuel High School in 1966. She earned her cosmetology license from a Vo-Tech program immediately after. She continued in this passion for over 30 years.
She earned her CAN certificate at St. Mary’s Hospital where she worked the night shift for over 20 years before they shut down. The next opportunity came at Market Research Institute, where she worked for over 14 years until they shut down. Lastly, she worked as a customer care representative for Weight Watchers International, where she worked part time until January 2024.
She attended various church throughout her childhood before joining Christian Tabernacle at the age of 16, where she accepted Christ on 40th and Woodland. She remained faithful, singing in the choir for over 3 years. She followed her parents to Faith Mission Church of God in Christ, where she also sang in the choir, led many solos, and was also the choir director for over 24 years. After the passing of Eld. Hubert Lambert, she returned to Christian Tabernacle in 1993, under the late Bishop Emmanuel Newton, Sr., and remained a faithful member under the leadership of Pastor Keith Newton until her passing.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents in 1989, Eld 7 Mother Parker; oldest sister, JoAnne McGary in 2006; oldest brother, Wendell Parker in 2015; and most recently her youngest sister, Shirley Parker in 2022.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Tyrone Parker of Kansas City, Missouri; six nieces, six nephews, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Although she had no children, she along with Shirley helped raised her great-nephew, Torrence “Tory” Parker of Kansas City, Missouri; LaQuisha “Quisha” (Eddy) Morrow of North Kansas City, Missouri; and Dominic “Nikki” Parker of Kansas City, Missouri.
