Patricia Ann Pelton-Moore (Morgan) was born August 17, 1948, to the union of Marvin L. Morgan and Marjorie Jeter in Kansas City, Kansas. Patricia accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and gave her life to Christ at an early age. As a child Patricia along with her sisters attended Church of Christ in Kansas City, MO. As an adult she attended Greater Corinthian Church of the Christ Non-Denominational in Kansas City, MO., she later became a member of First AME Church in Los Angeles, CA and came full circle back to Church of Christ in Las Vegas, NV.

Patricia attended and graduated in 1966 from Lincoln High School in Kansas City, MO. Where she met and then married James Pelton, the couple had a daughter, Felicia Sumler (Pelton). Patricia worked at Walker Foods and then at Stuart Hall Stationary in Kansas City, MO. where she retired. Patricia met Joseph “Joe” Tanner they formed a relationship, and they had a son, Joseph Tanner III. Patricia grew tired of the winters in Kansas City, so in August of 1984 she packed up and moved with her two children to Los Angeles, CA. Patricia worked in Sales as a Manager in Los Angeles, where she received many awards for her salesmanship and customer service. She later met Robert Moore the couple married in 1995 with no children.

Patricia loved her family immensely and was a true friend. She loved life and lived life. She was a very caring person with an open heart, who never met a stranger. If you needed a place to stay, you could always count on her. Patricia would feed you and treat you as family, and was always so full of life. You all know this Leo Lioness was known for standing out in a crowd. She was the moving spotlight. If you didn’t see her with her amazing hair, you heard her and knew you were in the right place because she could be the life of the party. She was known for many things but her iconic haircuts, being a sharp dresser, her vibrant personality, her BBQ ribs, potato salad and ham, loving to dance especially the “two-step” were just some of the many things that made her one of a kind. To know her was to love her.

Patricia departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2022, at her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Smith; father, Marvin L. Morgan; and nephew Roderick Morgan.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Felicia Sumler (Robert), her son Joseph Tanner III (Carmen); her Godsent sons Rodney Tanner and Joel “Duane” Tanner; her stepdaughter Renee Collins; stepson Robert Moore Jr; siblings; Marvin Morgan (Patricia) June Hill (Charles); April Lucas; Margie Harris (Claude); Frederick Morgan (Sandra); Edward Morgan (Jenni); grandchildren; Cheyenne Tanner, Carlyn Tanner, Cayden Tanner, Jasean Tanner; Caleigh Tanner, Kee’sha Hemphill; Jalen Tanner; Demetrius Sumler (Marissa), DaSheilah Gradney (Marleya); Reneisha Walker-Brown (Reginald); Crystal Walker; Rodney Tanner Jr ; Zarvontay David; Nikolas Tanner; Zion Piper; Javaun Tanner; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
