Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Turner, age 84, of Peculiar, Missouri passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving son, family and friends. She was born in Mexico, MO on May 20, 1934 to the late William and Frances West. Patricia graduated from Garfield High School Class of 1952. On October 5, 1957 she married her longtime friend and love, Harold Turner, who preceded her in death in 2000. Patricia is survived by her son Jerome Turner of Peculiar, MO; grandchildren Denise Maynard of Chandler, AZ, Derrick Young of Overland Park, KS, Toni Turner of Tokyo, JP, Waukesha Carter of Olathe, KS, Tyson Turner (Miyuki) of Tokyo, JP, Anthony Idika of Overland Park, KS, Jazmine Landrum (Micah) of Overland Park, KS, Kristian Ellis of Bremerton, WA and Cyron Turner of Overland Park, KS; twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Ronald Turner and great-grandson Derrick Young, Jr. Patricia will be lovingly remembered as a sister to William West (preceded in death), Gwen West of Kansas City, MO, Lois Woods of Kansas City, MO, Edward West of Sacramento, CA, Ronald West of Sacramento, CA, Marion West (preceded in death), Richard West of Kansas City, MO, Wynona Britt of Phoenix, AZ, and Helen Casey (James) of Kansas City, MO. She was loved and will be remembered by her aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. First and foremost, Pat was a dedicated mother and a doting grandmother. She treasured her two sons and grandchildren and embraced every moment shared with them. She had a loving, yet bubbly personality and always made people around her laugh, making friends everywhere she went. Pat enjoyed sewing, making Raggedy Ann and Andy and Cabbage Patch dolls, cooking, sharing recipes and scrapbooking. She was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals and loved watching game shows. Pat was employed at King Radio, an avionics firm in Olathe, Kansas, for many years until she retired. Pat gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with St. Luke Methodist Church in Mexico, MO, and she later rededicated her life as an active member of the United Believers Community Church. She was grateful for her loving church family and spiritual guidance under the direction of Pastor Darron LaMonte Edwards, Sr. Her life was a living example of her faith.
