Listen to Obituary

Patsie Ann Sipple, a vessel of honor for God, was born April 16, 1943, to the family of Martin and Gertrude Evans Sipple in Plain Dillon, Louisiana. She was the second oldest of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Josephine Bell and brothers Marshall Sipple, Sr., and Jerry Sipple.

The family relocated to Kansas City, Kansas, in the early 1950’s. Patsie was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas, school district and graduated in 1960 from Sumner High School. She later continued her education at Kansas University Hospital and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in the Child and Adult Psychiatric division of the hospital for 34 years ministering to the needs of all families. She was well liked and respected working as a head nurse.

This faithful woman of God accepted Christ as a young adult at Grant Chapel AME Church. Patsie loved to laugh, but she didn’t play. She had a great appreciation for honesty. She was wise and gave advice from an experienced and sincere place. She was laid back and shrewd. She was admired and looked up to as a mother figure by her grandchildren and even her siblings.

Patsie moved to Venice, California in her early 20’s with her sister Josephine before returning to Kansas City, Kansas. She returned to her spiritual roots and totally surrendered her life to Christ. She joined Christ’s Church of the Jesus Hour and worked as an usher. She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship for close to 30 years under the mentorship of Dr. Brenda J. Jenkins. She also served in the Health Ministry as a church nurse and was one of the Intercessory Prayer leaders. Patsie was also ordained as an Elder at Grace Christian Fellowship Church before her health declined, and she joined Kansas City Community Church in 2017 under the leadership of Pastor Charles and Lady Joy Cofield to be closer to home.

Patsie was the mother of two sons Kevin Lamont, and Reginald Darryl Sipple who both proceeded her in death. Her last living child was her daughter Leslie Deneen Sipple who graciously served as her caregiver for many years until her transition. She was a woman of integrity, fortitude and courage. She loved all her family and kept them covered in prayer. A true friend and faithful prayer warrior, she interceded continually for all. Several relied on her strength and prayers. She was spiritual royalty, and many people are still being covered by those same prayers.

On July 12, 2025, she awoke in Glory! She transitioned peacefully into the Presence of her Lord. Her legacy of love and compassion will ever live in our hearts. Patsie was very selfless and always put others first. She was gentle, patient, and kind-hearted. She was greatly loved and will surely be missed.

Her memory is cherished by her daughter, Leslie D. Sipple, grandsons, Orlando Sipple (Asia) Demetric Jackson, Jr., Kevin Sipple, Jr., granddaughters, Priscilla Sipple, Regina Sipple, Emani Davis (Michael), Jade Sipple, Deja Sipple and Rymiah Tennhue and 10 great grandchildren with one on the way. Her living brothers, Rev. Louis D. Sipple, (Gloria), Morris Sipple (Carolyn), Randy Sipple (Tracy), Keith Sipple, Steve Sipple, Brian Sipple, Martin Sipple, Jr. and a great host of many other nieces, nephews and close friends. Gone but not forgotten.
