Patsy E. Bolden, 65, passed away on July 18, 2024, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She was born March 10,1959, in Kansas City, MO. to Ed Henry Bolden II and Nellie J. White.
She leaves behind a legacy defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep commitment to her faith. She was not just a mother and grandmother; she was the embodiment of love and kindness, nurturing those around her with a spirit that seemed to shine brighter than the sun. As a dedicated church member, Patsy found joy in serving God and ensuring that her family thrived under the watchful eye of her nurturing heart.
At the time of her passing, Patsy was surrounded by her beloved eldest son, Mica Bolden, and her cherished daughter, LaQueena Bolden. Their presence was a testament to the strength of the bonds she forged through years of unconditional love and support. Patsy was a beacon of light, always ready to embrace her family and friends with open arms and an open heart.
Patsy’s journey began in Kansas City, Missouri, where she attended school in the local district, graduating from Central High School in 1977. She embarked on a diverse career path that showcased her dedication and passion for caring for her family. Working as a paralegal in a Kansas City law firm, she displayed a strong work ethic and a commitment to helping others navigate their legal challenges. However, her true passion emerged in the world of floral design, where she found joy in crafting beautiful arrangements that brought happiness to others. Her time at the Crown Center floral shop allowed her to express her creativity and share her love for nature’s beauty with customers who would come from near and far.
Patsy’s heart was not only filled with love for her family but also for the young lives she touched through her involvement with the Girl Scouts. As a leader, she made a profound impact on countless young girls, nurturing their growth and instilling values of perseverance and kindness. Her contributions to the National Girl Scout team in Kansas City marked a pivotal chapter in her life, one that was filled with major changes and heartfelt connections.
Throughout her journey, Patsy faced health challenges with remarkable resilience. Battling illness since she was just 16 years old, she fought valiantly to remain present for her children and grandchildren, determined to create cherished memories despite the adversities she encountered. Even when her health began to decline again, Patsy never lost that vibrant spirit that could light up any room. Conversations with her were filled with warmth, laughter, and an infectious positivity that made every moment spent with her a treasure.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ed Henry Bolden II and Nellie Jean White; sisters: Mary Bolden Lewis and Viola Bolden, brothers: Charles White and Ed Bolden; her child’s father, Roderich Counce; niece Shayla Bolden; nephews: Steven Jones, Marcus Grant, and Charles Rashad White.
She is survived by her children: Mica J. Bolden and LaQueena R. Bolden; grandchildren: Sydney R. Bolden, Nia R. Wilson, and Artimio J. Wilson; siblings: Clarence White and Paul White; nieces: Angel Lewis, Shawn Bolden, Kaneela Winters, Robin White, Nellie White, and Robin Anne White; nephew Ed Henry Bolden III; a host of other relatives, and friends.
As we gather to celebrate her life, we are reminded of the countless memories shared, the lessons learned, and the unconditional love that Patsy so effortlessly gave.
Patsy Bolden may no longer walk among us, but her spirit, her love, and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
