Paul Booker, 81, passed away June 9, 2018 at Bishop Spencer Place, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on November 5, 1936 in Rogers, Texas to William Booker and Addie Douglas.
He grew up in Hayti, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School in Hayti, Missouri. After high school he attended Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Education. He earned his master’s degree at UMKC.
He joined the Air Force and served for 3 years. During his time of service, he was the recipient of Good Conduct Medal. He achieved rank of Air Man. He began work for KC Public Schools as a teacher/Home School Coordinator, where he worked for 30 years. He retired from KC School District after 30 years, and he retired from Niles Home for children after 20 years. He was involved in Monday Night Footballers for over 40 years.
He married Carolyn Wilson on February 27, 1961 in Hayti, Missouri. They were happily married for 52 years.
He was preceded into death by his parents, William Booker and Addie Douglas Booker; siblings; Aretha Douglas, Dorothy Spann, Chester Freeman, Layuana Harges; and spouse, Carolyn Booker.
He is survived by son, Roderick Booker, daughter, Rita Holland (Leon Woods), siblings, Addie Dale Clark (HB Clark), Emma Booker; four grandchildren, Ashley Booker, Kevin Booker, Micaela Holland, Malaia Holland; great grandchildren, Karsen Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends, The Monday Night Footballers.
