Mrs. Peggie Lee Ayers-Spears Mrs. Peggie Lee Ayers Spears, age 64, departed this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. She was born July 30, 1951, to parents Myra and Roy Ayers in Clay, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters-Mira Wyatt, Lucy Franklin & Patricia Ayers, and brother-Robert Ayers. Peggie lived in Jonesboro, Louisiana, where she attended Jonesboro-Hodge High School, until she moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1973. While in Kansas City, she worked at Youth Craft, Mar-Kay Plastics, Avila Montessori & Preschool. But, her greatest testimonies were that she found Christ and was united in marriage to Kenneth E Spears in 1984. By these two unions, she served as the matriarch of a beautiful family. Peggie was a wonderfully amazing woman that loved to cook, spend time with her grandchildren, and playing her blues as she picked greens. She played a special role in the many lives of people she would meet-family, friend or foe. Peggie displayed a heart of gold. She leaves to cherish her love and uphold her legacy her husband, Kenneth Spears; four daughters-Cicely Mitchell, Sarita Mitchell, Diane Stovall (Kansas City, Missouri) and Robin Spears (Kansas City, Kansas); three sons-Edwardo Mitchell (Beonica), Christopher Ayers and Eldon Spears (Kansas City, Missouri); seven grandchildren-Jordan Mitchell, Shaqwonna Starr, Sha'Ron Mitchell, Darryon Mallet, Benitez Zollar, Aydenn Lee Billy Mitchell and Terry Stovall (Kansas City, Missouri); and two great grandchildren- Cyreeta Sanders and Alysa Stovall (Kansas City, Missouri). Additional family include three sisters-Mary Ayers (New Orleans, Louisiana), Cassandra West (Jonesboro, Louisiana) and Chundralyn West (Atlanta, Georgia); six brothers-William Ayers (Elk Grove, California), James Ayers (Monroe, Louisiana), Danny Robinson (Beaumont, Texas), Rickey Ayevrs, Ronie Ayers, Jeffrey Ayers (Ruston, Louisiana); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
