Preston Guy Wilburn was born on September 1, 1968, in Dumas, Ark. to Clara Bell Wilburn and Luster Wilburn, Sr.
Preston received his education in Dumas, Ark. and Liberal, Ks., where he graduated from Liberal High School with the class of 1987. He worked at National Beef Packing Co. for several years. He later underwent an apprenticeship for an electrical company in Liberal, Ks. for approximately three years. In the late 1990’s, Preston moved his family to the Kansas City, Mo. area. He attended Swift Truck Driving School in Kansas City, Ks. and obtained his Commercial Driver’s License. He was a truck driver for several years. He started his own contractor business offering “handyman” type services. Preston was truly a “jack of all trades.”
Preston was a member of Transparent Church, under the late Pastor Randolph Cobbins. He loved barbecuing, cooking, good times with family, sports, fishing, playing dominoes and spades. He was a fitness enthusiast, an avid dog lover, and a die-hard Arkansas Razorback fan. He was a great supporter and protector of his family and friends. His smile, joking, and laughter will be forever missed.
Preston slipped quietly and peacefully beyond this living realm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He transitioned over to meet the Lord from his home in Kansas City, Mo. Preston was preceded on this journey by his mother, Clara Bell Wilburn and brother, Christopher Thomas Washington.
Preston leaves to celebrate his life’s memories: Significant Other of many years, Teffiny Evans of Kansas City, Mo; father, Luster Wilburn, Sr. of Dumas, Ark.; five children: Kieshan Wilburn of Kansas City, Ks; Serena Wilburn, Shalonda Wilburn, ShaKyra Wilburn, and LouChrissa Wilburn, all of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers: Luster (Debra) Wilburn, Jr. of Olathe, Ks, Felix (Donna) Wilburn of Wichita, Ks, and Larry Davis of Liberal, Ks; four sisters: Brenda Washington and Rosemary (Wallace) Butts of Kansas City, Ks; Paulette (Keith) Aipperspach of Gillette, Wyoming; and Crystal Wilburn of Liberty, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who love and miss him dearly.
