Ramsey Williams Sr. was born on April 21, 1980, to Joy Williams and Richard Walters, Sr., at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Shoni Williams; his children, Talisha, Tanesha, and Ramsey Jr.; his mother, Joy Williams-Waldron (Paul); his siblings, Ramanda Hicks (Williams), Rachel Williams, and Rionna Williams; and a host of family and friends.
At a very young age, Ramsey developed values around God, family, work, and community. He often bragged about learning and wanting to provide for his family, starting in kindergarten. He loved making homemade doughnuts, reading, and listening to a variety of music genres, including classical, rock, Opera, R&b, old school rap, and Baptist choir songs. Ram was very diverse and had a profound desire to learn outside of the classroom. Financial literacy, Youth Academic Excellence, equality, and helping the homeless in Kansas City were his passions and often the topics of conversation. Throughout his life’s journey, he was afforded many opportunities. He was on the Van Horn High School football team, lifted weights, was an entrepreneur (candy man), along with being a mentor and big brother to many. Ramsey was a published author of Piece of Me.
He loved supporting students who were interested in the performing arts. After high school, he met his wife, Shoni, at the young age of 21. They began to build a life together, serving in church, work, and at home. Out of this union, they have three wonderful children. He was like no other; he was always willing to do what it takes to provide for his family. Center School District and Price Chopper became his home away from home. He often shared about his coworkers, who became family. Each person had a unique nickname according to their story. Ramsey Williams Sr. has impacted his church family, work family, school family, and the community. He will always be remembered as an intelligent, joyous soul who brought happiness to everyone he met.
-Rest well, Ram
