Reenea Kimberly Carter, 56, passed away on October 2, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born March 6, 1968, in Knoxville, TN to Henry William Carter and Marcia Faye Nolan. She was born in Knoxville, TN and spent most of her childhood as a traveling military brat. She graduated from F. L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, KS and attended American University in Kansas City, MO.
She began working for Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Examiner where she worked for many years.
Reenea was passionate about her baking, which lead her to start Kansas City Dessert Company in 2006 out of her home.
She married Zachary Green on June 30, 2014, in Kansas City, MO. They were happily married for 5 years.
She opened her storefront in 2019 and was best known for her dessert creations, along with her liquor infused and vegan cake line.
Although baking was her passion, her love for family and friends far outweighed all her passions. She cherished her children and loved being a grandmother.
Reenea attended Bread of Life Ministries in Kansas City, KS before relocating to St. Louis, MO. Upon returning to Kansas City, MO, she became a member of Harvest Church International.
She was preceded in death by her father Henry William Carter and her husband Zachary Green.
She is survived by: Mother Marcia Humphrey, Brothers: Amingi Carter, Jamal and Jamil Humphrey, Children: Kimberly Cooper, Kieanna Cooper, Janie Tenner, Javan Hughes, and Sir Hughes, Grandchildren: Keyvan Johnson, Saniyah Taylor, Mariyah Taylor, Jasmine Johnson, Serenity Hughes, Samara Hughes, Ashly Reenea Simpson, expected birth November 29, 2024, a host of other relatives and friends
Reenea will be greatly missed and forever remembered by those who loved her.
