Reginald Tyrone Harmon, 63, passed away on Friday January 24, 2025, at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Reggie was born November 14, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri to Cecil D. Williams and Barbara L. Harmon. Reggie was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers; Roderick (Ricky) Smith, Gary Williams and John Williams and both maternal and fraternal grandparents.
Reggie grew up in Kansas City, Mo and was educated in the Kansas City School District, Southeast High School, class of 1979. Reggie purchased his first motorcycle prior to graduating high school. He spent his younger years riding motorcycles, dirt bikes and working at their family car wash. Shortly after graduating, Reggie joined the United States Marine Corp. He served in the US Marine Corp. for 4 years.
Reggie retired from PBI Gordon after 27 years where he worked as a Traffic Coordinator. During his tenure at PBI Gordon he developed a love for ping pong and golf. After retirement, Reggie helped take care of his mother in law, Dorothy for four years. He decided to go back into the working field as an electrician apprentice at KC Electric. After working two years for KC Electric, Reggie started working part time at Lowe’s where he worked over the next four years. Reggie quickly became a shining star to not only the customers but also his fellow peers. Reggie was still employed with Lowe’s at the time of his death.
Reggie leaves behind to celebrate his memories, his wife, Johnetta Berryman-Harmon of 39 years; two daughters, Brittney and Jasmine (De’Shawn); three granddaughters, Janiya ‘Tink’, Caylen ‘Grittle’ and Kennisyn; and his one and only grandson, De’Shawn Jr.; surrogate mother, Elizabeth ‘Roxie’ Williams; three brothers, Orville ‘Melvin’ Smith (Linda), Cecil Williams, and Ronald Williams; three sisters, Sylvia ‘Billie’ Williams (Earl), Lynn King, and Denise Downing (CA); one aunt, Marietta Ross (Earl) of St. Louis, Mo. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Reggie had an undeniable love for all sports and movie genres however, golf, tennis, the Green Bay Packers and western movies were at the top of his list. He enjoyed spending his free-time watching movies with his granddaughters, cruising on his motorcycle, and making everyone around him smile. Reggie had a gift when it came to making everyone around him smile whether it was by making simple conversation, singing a song regardless of how it sounded or even breaking out his dance moves. He was a one of a kind man and he will truly be missed.
