Reginald Isaac, Sr.

Reginald Isaac Sr. affectionately known as “Reggie” was born on September 16th, 1958 to the late Hayward Silas and Ruby J. Isaac. Reggie was a hardworking, strong, funny, and generous man who valued his family and the people around him. He enjoyed fishing, and spending quality time with his loved ones.

Reggie shared a lifelong love with his high school sweetheart, Sheila Carter. Their relationship began in their younger years, eventually leading to marriage, and a devoted partnership that lasted 44 years. Reggie remained devoted to Sheila throughout their life together, after her passing he carried her memory with him.

His faith was the most important part of his life. As a devoted member at Evangelistic Center Church he served for many years and in several roles including Deacon, Usher, and Security under the tutelage of Bishop Jack C. Vaughn. He also dedicated his time to mentoring young men through Big Brothers Big sisters of America.

Taking great pride in his work, he built a career in Engineering as a Control Test Manager spanning more than four decades - most recently with AAON where he dedicated over 20 years of service. He was so passionate about his work that he often joked that he would “never retire”, and would have to be “removed by force”. His drive, work ethic, and commitment to his profession were true reflection of the man he was.

To say that Reginald had a passion for Martial Arts would be an understatement! He dominated numerous forms of Karate earning many black belt titles, trophies, awards, and performed at the Juneteenth celebrations here in Kansas City. Through Karate, he took pride in teaching discipline, confidence,strength and most of all knowledge. For many he was more than an instructor, he was a mentor and a role model.

Reggie is survived by his Fiancée, Angelia Amrine; his only son Reginald (Margurite) Isaac Jr; his beloved granddaughter Clarity Isaac, Step grandkids; Jasmyne Butler, Jacqeyva Jones, Myron Jones, Jr and Je’Dyvon Jones. Step-Granddaughters: Anniyah Anton, and Lilya Anton. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters; Angela (Cecil) Tooley, Sheila Isaac, Monique (Phill) Roberts, Tiffany Murray, Lisa Murray, Cesselyn(Delshawn) Smith, Ramona Murray, Paula Murray, and Christina Murray. His brothers; Hayward Silas Jr,Tony Murray, Herbert Murray, Shawn Murray Jeffrey Murray and a host of family and friends near and far who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sheila Carter Isaac; his parents Haywood Silas, and Ruby”Isaac”Murray; his stepfather Albert J, Murray, his brother Terrance Murray.

Reginald leaves behind a legacy of love, service, mentorship, and hard work. He will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, dedication to his career, passion for Karate, devotion to his church, and the many lives that he touched along the way.

Reggie will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
