Retha L. Jones

Retha L. Jones was born on October 1, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Claude William Jones II and Lester Mae Gilbert. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. She peacefully departed this life on March 1, 2024.

Retha accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Retha was educated through the Kansas City School District where she attended Paseo High School. She had a passion for cooking and spent many years in the culinary industry.

Retha loved being around family and took great pride in being a mother and grandmother. She was known for being reliable, strong willed, determined, and maintaining a happy household.

She was a true fighter in every sense, handling life's challenges with courageous energy. Despite her petite stature, she possessed the heart of a lion and a spirit of determination that could be admired by those around her.

Retha is preceded in death by both her parents.

Retha is survived by her loving children: Berisha Jones, Bernard Jones; Grandchildren: Ameris O'Brien, Breanna O'Brien, and Mikaela Pouncil; Siblings: Sherry Jones of Los Angeles, Ca., Claude Jones of Riverside, Ca., Daryl Jones of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of extended family and friends.
