In Loving Memory of
Richard Bernard Reed Sr.
“Ricky”

Richard Bernard Reed Sr., 68, affectionately known as “Ricky”, was born on April 9, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, friendship, and cherished memories.

Ricky attended schools in the Kansas City School District, including Dunbar Elementary and East High School.

Throughout his career, he held several positions and dedicated himself to providing for his family. He retired from Superior Lexus in 2014 after 15 years of employment.

Ricky had a passion for automobiles and could often be found admiring or talking about cars. Among his favorites were his beloved Corvette and convertible Cadillac. He was also a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed cheering on his team. Ricky loved music, especially Ole School R&B.

Ricky was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Williams Reed; his son, Richard Reed Jr.; his father, George Lee Collins; and his bonus, William “Leson” Williams.

Ricky departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Research Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Cloteal Collins; his daughters, Tameka Bennett and Kajuan Alcorn; his sisters, Vicki Lawrence, Angela Collins, and Rhonda Miles (Cedric); and his bonus children, Michael Williams, Aisha Kelly, Antonio Williams and Leotis Williams.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Melanie Alcorn, De’Ahna Clay, Brandi Bennett, Destini Bennett, Tre Cade and Guymil Montgomery; nephews, Terrance Watson Sr. and DeAngelo Collins Sr.; nieces, Veronica Marshall (Chris), Shanta Watson, Keona Watson, and Ebone Cheadle (Eddie); uncle, Jimmy Reed (Anna); aunt, Joann Donahue; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest peacefully, Ricky. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you will be deeply missed.
