Rickey Allen Brown Sr., affectionately known as “Rickey Boo” by his friends and family. Rickey was born September 26, 1952 in Fort Scott, KS to Kenneth Brown and Helen Jones Brown, who both preceded him in death. Rickey was the second oldest of seven children. Rickey attended elementary and high-school in the Kansas City, MO area. After high-school Rickey joined the army and was stationed in Germany, he was honorably discharged and came home to be with his wife Debora Brown and their children. After leaving the army he took a job at Osteopathic Hospital in Kansas City, MO in the food service department until the closing of the hospital. Rickey was a very intelligent man and decided to further his education and began taking college courses at Penn Valley, before finishing up his bachelor's degree at DeVry Technical Institute. After graduating college, he took a position at Husch Eppenberger Law Firm in downtown Kansas City, Mo. He worked there for several years before his illness forced him to stop working.

Preceding Rickey in death, his son Rickey Allen Brown Jr., sister’s Helena Elliot-Allen, and Sharon Thomas, Stepfather Melvin Thomas, nephew’s Donald and Ronald Elliott, and brother Gary E. Thomas.

Rickey is survived by his son: Cornelious Brown; stepsons: Alphonso Lora, Thomas Brown, Earnest Dudley Jr.; and stepdaughters: Priscilla Lora, and Debra Sue Lora; sisters: Deborah Thomas, Regina Thomas, and Candace Thomas; grandson’s: Rickey Brown III, Cory Lider, and Liam Brown; granddaughter: Hannah Brown; nephew’s: Arbanas Elliott (LaResa), Michael Ragland (Diane); niece: Tiffany Fleming (Marcarsha). Great nephew Darruis Patton; and great-niece: Adrianna Patton. He is also survived by a host of family and friends who will forever cherish and remember Rickey Boo.
