In Loving Memory of Robert Lawrence Hamilton Jr.

Robert Lawrence Hamilton Jr. was born on December 20, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of Robert Lawrence Hamilton Sr. and Joyce Elaine (Turner) Iverson.

Robert spent most of his life in Kansas City, where he attended schools within the Kansas City School District. He accepted Christ into his life and became a devoted member of This Rock Christian Tabernacle, where he later became a DEACON of the church. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he faithfully shared his gift of song as a member of the Men's Choir. 

Throughout his life, Robert worked various jobs and was known for being committed to whatever he set his hands to. He also worked with Beyond the Conviction, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals newly released from incarceration successfully transition back into society. His work allowed him to be a part of helping others move forward and begin a new chapter in their lives.

 Robert was a humble and loving man with a kind heart and genuine spirit. He enjoyed the simple things that made life good - cooking, singing, dressing to impress, smelling good, and, of course, 2-stepping. Robert was smooth on his feet and believed in looking good and feeling good while doing it. He took pride in how he presented himself and carried a style that was all his own. 

More than anything, Robert loved his family and cherished the moments he shared with those closest to him. Although he did not have children of his own, that never kept him from pouring love into the lives of his nieces and nephews. He was present in their lives and treasured the special bonds they shared. 

Robert was humble and loving, but those who knew him best also knew he had a snappy side! If you pushed him to his limit, he was quick to let you know about it. That was simply Robert - genuine, straightforward, and always himself. And just as quickly as he could tell you how he felt, he could fill a room with laughter. Robert could be the first one to bust out laughing, and before long, everyone around him would be laughing right along with him. 

Even as his health began to take a toll on him, Robert refused to allow it to keep him from the things and people he loved. He continued living life on his own terms - spending time with family, enjoying the moments that mattered, and making the most of the life before him. His strength, determination, and loving spirit remained a reflection of the man he had always been. 

Affectionately known as "Uncle Tut," Robert held a special place in the hearts of his family. His personality, his laughter, his love, his style, and the unforgettable spirit he carried will remain a part of the many memories shared by those blessed to know him. 

On August 2, 2026, Robert peacefully transitioned at St. Luke Hospice House, leaving behind a life and legacy that will continue through those who loved him. 

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Elaine Iverson; his father, Robert Lawrence Hamilton Sr.; two sisters, Rachel Hamilton and Katherine Fulbright; his brother, Curtis D. Iverson; and his nephews, Oscar Williams Jr., Damario Gentry, Donelle Morris, and Thomas Greger Jr. 

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Melvin Iverson (Angela) and Barry Hamilton (Tanisha); his sister, Bonnie Anderson (Curtis); his best friend, Edgar Jung; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and dear friends.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories Robert created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will continue to live in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. 

Forever loved. Never forgotten. Always remembered.
