Robert Adam Herron Jr.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Robert Adam Herron Jr. was granted eternal rest, at the age of 61. Robert was born on January 18, 1961, in Kansas City, MO to Barbara and Robert Herron, Sr. He attended Manuel High School for several years where he ran track, played football, and participated in ROTC. He eventually received his high school diploma from Van Horn High School. In 1979, shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the US Army where he was stationed overseas in Germany and served until 1982. After this, he joined and served with the National Guard for several years. In May of 1985 he married Sharon Love and later that year on December 31, 1985, they welcomed his only child Robert Adam Love (Herron III).

Robert was a big-hearted, gentle, and jovial soul. His smile had a way of brightening up the day of complete strangers and any room he found himself in. He loved to laugh and crack jokes, watch action movies and the Looney Tunes and root for Kansas City’s local sports teams, especially the Chiefs. And, of course, he loved to eat some good food. His greatest passion may have been food and cooking. He channeled this love into a career as a chef at casinos, buffet restaurants and KCMSD Schools throughout Kansas City. At the peak of his career, he worked as a Sous Chef at the Downtown Marriot where he once earned Employee of the Year honors. Although he was quiet, often kept to himself and wasn’t very big on self-expression he had an immense love for his family and the dear friends he made over the years.

Robert was preceded in death by his father: Robert; and sister, Lisa. He is survived by his son: Rob; his mother: Barbara; sister: Jacqueline (Fred); brother: Johnny (Diane); favorite aunt: JoAnn; nieces: Robin (Delvin), and Cierra (Tommy), as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
