Robert Hornback was born on January 24, 1943, in Calhoun, OK to Henry Hornback and Hattie Mae (Hornback) Williams
Both parents, and siblings, James Hornback, Carl Hornback, Harold Hornback, Faye Hornback, Walker Williams, and Erma McComb, preceded him in death. Robert worked for many years in various industries including, janitorial/maintenance at McFadden’s until his health began to fail. He had an entrepreneurial spirit as he worked the men’s restroom at McFadden’s in downtown Kansas City. Whatever you needed, cologne, smokes, jerseys for the game, snacks, drinks, he had it for you right outside the men’s restroom. He really enjoyed meeting people and their needs; it gave him a great sense of fulfillment and joy to be able to put a smile on people’s faces. He also loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs play.
For approximately 6 ½ years his family was the Boys and Girls Club. He also loved going to the casino on the 1st of every month. Mrs. Regina Roberson would always have a wheelchair for him.
Robert had a very kind and loving soul. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, especially if you were a lady! He loved women! Robert will truly be missed by all who loved him. Robert was a very happy man even on his last day on earth. Goodbye Robert, thank you so much for the memories.
Those left to treasure the memories of Robert include his siblings, Patricia Lee of Wilmington, DE, and Donna Williams of Fulton, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.
