Deacon Robert (Hungry) Preston Lane was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 9, 1973 to Robert Taylor and Sheila Renee Lane. He was the second youngest of 5 children. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his aunts Stephanie Cooper and Saundra Reynalds.
Deacon Lane attended Katherine B Richardson Elementary, Central Middle Schaal and Central High School in Kansas City Missouri. He later graduated from Prime Company of Springfield Missouri with his Commercial Driver's License. He took piano lessons as a child at Charlie Parker Center. He had a passion for all sports, but basketball and football were his favorites. The Kansas City Chiefs held a special place in his heart. He supported his children in whatever sport they chose and even attended Savannah and Michael's national AAU track meet in Iowa during treatments in July of 2018. He supported his family For the last 13 years as an employee at Central Transport in Kansas City Kansas. He was in the trucking industry for 20 years. He had a loving, caring personality and was unbiased toward others. He was always willing ta be a helping hand wherever he was needed. He was united in marriage to Kezia N. Lane March 22, 2005. To this union they were blessed with 4 precious children. Robert P. Lane Jr., Savannah R. Lane, Michael E. Lane, Josiah G. Lane. They have known one another for over 20 years and recently celebrated their 13th year anniversary in 2018. They enjoyed a vacation to Puerta Rica in 2016 ta honor their union. The Lord saved and filled Deacon Lane in May of 2001. He was enthusiastic about witnessing to others about Gad. He was on the deacon and usher boards, and assisted with the Bay Scout program at Barker Memorial COGIC. He had a close relationship with his spiritual fathers Deacon Brooks and Elder Haynes. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Kezia, 3 sons Robert Jr., Michael, Josiah, 1 daughter Savannah, granddaughter Averie, sister Suzanne Tanner (Henry Sr.), Kajenia Gilmore, Deanna Lane, 1 brother Justin Lane, aunts Sherry West, Sonya Singleton, Shelley Grant, Sylvia Bryant (Charles), Susan Udeh, dearest cousins Timothy Ellis Jr., Alexandra West (aka Fingers), Kasey Sadiq, closest friends Barry Sims and Gwendolyn Jenkins-Redmond and a hast of other relatives and friends.
