Robert Whitney

Robert Lee Whitney, 79, departed this life on May 24, 2023, at the home.  He was born on June 13, 1943, in Kensett, Arkansas to the late Robert M. Whitney and Earnestine Whitney.

He joined Centennial Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  He graduated from White County School in Searcy, Arkansas.  After high school he began working for the Railroad and then Safeway while residing in Arkansas.  Prior to retiring, he worked as a security officer at the Isle of Capri Casino, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Robert married Gwendolyn Marie Tabron on December 9, 1995.  They were happily united in marriage for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Robert M. Whitney; his son: Robert Lee Whitney, Jr; two sisters: Loretta Millet, and Mary Brewer; one brother, Donald Whitney; and one granddaughter, Zamari Whitney-Thomas.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Gwendolyn Whitney of Kansas City, Missouri; four daughters, Teresa Harrison of Sherwood, Arkansas, Consuelo Whitney of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Kimberly Tabron of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tina Whitney of Jacksonville, Arkansas; two sisters, Velta Baker, and Patty Jackson both of Kensett, Arkansas; two brothers, Edward Eugene Whitney of Kensitt, Arkansas, and Gregory Whitney (Kimi) of Searcy, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
