Rodney L. McClain passed away on November 30, 2024, at Kansas City Hospice House, in Kansas City, MO. He was born on January 20, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. to Fred McClain, Sr. and Verma McClain. He grew up in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO.

He began working for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical as a Pharmaceutical Technician where he worked for 24 years. He later began work for Merck Pharmaceutical for 16 years as a Pharmaceutical Technician.

In his early years Rodney enjoyed fishing and playing baseball, which he played well into his forties. Even though, he loved playing baseball he was most passionate about football and his beloved Chiefs. Rodney was a Chiefs season ticket holder for many years and enjoyed going out to the stadium and watching the games. When he was not at the stadium you could find him in his favorite chair watching the game and enjoying being retired.

Rodney married Deborah McClain and they were happily married until his passing.

He was preceded in death by: Father, Fred McClain, Sr.; Mother, Verma McClain; Brothers: Gilbert McClain and Fred McClain; and Sister, Cynthia Todd.

He is survived by: Spouse, Deborah McClain; a very special Friend, Sheila Wright; Children: Rodney McClain, Jr., Norvell Trent, Ronee’ McClain, Ronisha Conway, and Marcus Wright; Brother, Howard McClain; Sisters: Glenda Perry (Michael) and Gaye Johnson.

Grandchildren: LaTeece McClain, Rodney Dominique McClain, Shya McClain, and Rodshay McClain.

Great Grandchildren: LaNya Morris, Jersey McGee, Jessie McGee, a host of other Relatives and Friends.
