He was born on May 16, 1966 to Linda Vernell Pettit.
He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from South West High School.
Rodney enjoyed watching sports, and playing basketball. He also enjoyed time with his neighborhood friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda; grandmother, Corine; and his sister, Sonya.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, LaKirah Jackson, Mi'Ericka Jackson, Eric Jackson (Yuka), Jasmine Jackson, Arianna Jackson (Brandon); two brothers, Jason Thompson (Star), and Carlos Thompson; two sisters, LaTasha Douglas (Shannon), and Lakesha Zollar (Carl), and a hose of relatives and friends.
