Roger attended Southeast Junior and Senior High School in the Kansas City Mo School District, joining the United States Army shortly after where he completed his education. Roger served this country for two years as a paratrooper before being honorably discharged. He then began working at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital where he was employed for many years before returning to school at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City Mo, working towards a degree as a Radiologist Technician. Following that Mr. Whitley spent 17 years as a collector for Wells Fargo before his health began to wane.
Roger leaves to cherish his memories his older brother Richard E Whitley (Wanda), his baby sister Renee Evette Riley (Major), 6 daughters Tonya Cotten (Earl), Tamu Whitley, Kinshasa Whitley -Green (Bilal), Kynyatta Whitley, Sagirah Whitley, Montoyia Whitley, 2 sons Rahmann Whitley, and Derron Whitley, seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, and good lifetime friend and Domino adversary Alonzo Williams.
