Ronald Brenard Andrews, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 67 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on November 2, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska to Ervin and Ruby Dell Andrews.
Ronald gave his life to Christ at an early age and Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Vernon Richardson.
From a young age, Ronald demonstrated a passion for music. At just six years old, he cried to sing in the senior choir at his church, a request that was initially met with hesitation. However, the pastor, recognizing his determination and spirit, overturned the decision, allowing young Ronald to join. Because of his love for the music ministry, Ronald served as the Minister of music and Choir Director for Faith Temple and State Minister of Music for the State of Nebraska and several positions at his local church. This early love for music would stay with him throughout his life and became a testament to his persistence and love for community.
Ronald married the love of his life, Georgann E. Andrews in 1989 and to this union he and Georgann raised three beautiful girls, Rekeisha, Brittani and Brionne. Ronald was later ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in 1990 and he and his family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1994. He founded the Faith Temple Interdenominational Church in 1996 in Kanas City, Missouri.
Throughout his life, Ronald was passionate about serving God, his family and his community. He worked at Mutual of Omaha from 1973 to 1994 and for many years at Chrysler Financial Corporation. His most rewarding career was as a Chaplain at St. Mary’s and St. Joseph Hospital. Ronald earned the respect of his colleagues and community. He took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ronald earned his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Faith Bible College in 2006.
Ronald lived a life full of integrity, kindness, and laughter. He was known for his unwavering work ethic and deep devotion to his family. A loving father to Rekeshia, Brittani and Brionne and cherished grandfather to Mariah Pilgrim and Kingston Wells. Ronald found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved.
Ronald will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the genuine care he showed to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Rudy Dell Andres, three brothers, Bennie Lewis Andrews, Henry James Andrews and Willie Ervin Andrews; sister-in-law, Marvelyn Manning and his spiritual sons, Jeron “Bubba” Shaw and Nick Butler.
Ronald is survived by his devoted wife, Georgann E. Andrews, three beautiful daughters; Rekeshia Andrews, Brittani Andrews and Brionne Andrews, loving grandchildren; Mariah Pilgrim and Kingston Wells, siblings; Cecelia (John) Draper, Frank (Barbara) Andrews, Arthur Andrews, Otis Sanders, Lorenzo (Sybil) Andrews, Donald (Alesia) Andrews, and Stacey Shaw Andrews, aunts; Mary (Willie Earl) Ewing and Minnie (Calvin) Augustine; sister in laws; Debbie McClain, Betty (Vernard) Johnson; brother-in-laws; George (Karen) Smith and Ray Manning, Jr. and a host of relatives and friends.
