Ronald W. Ashley, 62, made his transition from this earthly world, to his heavenly home on November 9, 2017 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on August 20, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Rev. John F. Ashley and Ruth F. Ashley.
He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Kansas City Missouri Public Schools, and graduated from Southeast High School. He became a licensed psychologist and was employed at Western Missouri Mental Health for 10 years until his retirement in 1984.
Ronald accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, where he was involved in various ministries in the church. Ronald met Barbara Denson in 1975, and they were united in holy matrimony on July 18, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for 38 wonderful years. He loved his family. Ronald had a loving heart, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
He is preceded into death by his parents, Rev. John F. Ashley; and Ruth F. Ashley, his son, Mark Anthony Ashley; and his brother, Anthony F. Ashley.
He leaves to cherish is memory his wife of 38 years, Barbara Ashley; his daughters, Veronica Denson Ashley; Jeanina Terez Ashley; and Ikea Slayton, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
