Listen to Obituary

Ronald Dale Boyd Sr., affectionately known as (R&B) or Ron, was born on December 3, 1965, in Kansas City, KS to Luticia and Lawrence Boyd Sr. He was special because this was not just any birth, he was 1 of 2 born on that day. That’s right he was a twin to his sister Rhonda.

Ronald attended and received his education in the Kansas City Public Schools from the Head Start program all the way through high school, where he graduated from East High School (Home of the Bears) in 1984.

Ron wasted no time getting to life. In fact, shortly after graduation he married his high school sweetheart Jill Robinson that very same year, after he confessed his love for Christ and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Ron and Jill were married for 12 years and to this Union (3) beautiful children were born, Ronald “Dale” Jr., Ramon Deandre “Monte” and Ashya Marie Veronica the “Princess.” During this time Ron worked many jobs to support his family, he was an ironworker, he worked for Batliner, and he worked for Sam’s Town on the Landing Mall, along with various other mechanics jobs. But the biggest accomplishment for Ron during this time was the home that he had helped build alongside his family and Habitat for Humanity. But a happy life happy wife was not to be, and his marriage to his wife Jill ended in 1997. But they remained the Best of friends.

During this time, is when Ron decided to go into business for himself. The birth of R&B Auto was born. Ron would follow in his dad’s footsteps and mastered the craft of fixing cars and became one of the best local mechanics in Kansas City. In fact, his logo on his truck reads: “After you’ve tried the rest, Come to the Best!” Ron was well known in his community and many people came to his shop on 27th street. Many people knew and loved Ron. In fact, I don’t believe he ever met a stranger.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents Luticia and Lawrence Boyd Sr., four brothers Archie L. Boyd (Nona) (d), Samuel J. Newman (Claudia) (d), Alonzo Boyd, and Lawrence A. Boyd Jr.

Ron leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved children: Ronald D. Boyd Jr. (Tatiana), Ramon Boyd (Ashley), Ashya Fleming (Montel), Lisa Bryant his Significant Other, Jill Arnold (MOC)(Tim), and his siblings: Sisters; his twin sister Rhonda Briscoe (Terry), Teresa McIntosh (Gerald), Thelma Hill (Robert), Pearleen Rowan (Charles), Roxian Baker (Michael)(d), Tammy Peoples (Darrin). one stepsister: Mae Francis Calhoun. Brothers: Torrance Henderson, Ervin Boyd, Ernest Boyd. two stepbrothers: Duane Murff (Donna), Larry Murff, and one sister-in-love Carolyn Boyd (Lawrence Jr.) (d). fifteen grandchildren: Taliah, Ronald III, Denzel, Hassani, Malea, and Zamaya (Dale). Ra’Myla, I’yonna, Cayson, Micaah, and Cayden (Monte). Brooke, Josiah, Kennedy, and Kamiyah (Ashya). Three bonus sons: Derron Bryant, Jerron and Terron Fuller.

Ron had four special friends that will miss him dearly, Glen Coley, Nate Brown, Jameylee Furney and Calvin Sanders. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins who will miss him.
