Born on May 10, 1977, to Debra Smith-Amrine and Ronnell Amrine Sr., Ronnell Jr.—affectionately known as BayRon—was a radiant force of love, laughter, and loyalty. He attended East High School in Kansas City, where his vibrant personality and unforgettable charm left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
BayRon was the “Fresh Prince” of the family—charming, witty, and magnetic. His box haircut and priceless smile were matched only by his ability to make everyone laugh, even in the hardest moments. He had a gift for connection: offering the shirt off his back to anyone in need, listening without judgment, or guiding others with quiet wisdom, BayRon made people feel seen, safe, and valued.
He was incredibly strong, energetic and loved unconditionally. His smile carried a warmth that could light up any room, He helped the homeless, uplifted friends, and never hesitated to protect those he loved. His energy was playful, his spirit kind, and his heart always open.
BayRon also had a green thumb, finding peace and pride in nurturing plants and watching them flourish. His garden reflected the same care and patience he gave to people—always tending, always growing. Alongside his love for nature, he shared a special bond with his beloved cat, whose companionship brought him comfort and joy. Together, they were a reminder of the simple, everyday love that filled his life.
As a husband and life partner to Nettie, BayRon was extraordinary. His devotion ran deep, expressed not just in words but in everyday acts of care and commitment. He was the kind of man who made love feel like home.
Ronnell “BayRon” Amrine Jr. was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, whose love and guidance shaped his early years and whose memory remained close to his heart.
He by survived by his devoted parents: Debra Smith-Amrine and Ronnell Amrine Sr.; his beloved wife and life partner, Nettie Amrine; his cherished daughter, Sheila Amrine; and his adored grandson, Nasir Amrine.
BayRon also leaves behind a wide circle of siblings who carry his spirit forward: Derrick Williams, Donnella Amrine-Grimes (Ralph), LaChelle Amrine, Tiffany Colman, Nataya Amrine-Mitchell (DJ), Dabree Amrine-Jones (Tyrone) and Donnell Amrine (Nickole) and a host of extended family and friends.
Each of them holds a piece of BayRon’s laughter, loyalty, and light—and together, they honor the man who gave so much of himself to those he loved.
