Ronnie Lee Johnson was born February 4, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the oldest son of Claud and Rosie Lee Johnson. He transitioned peacefully from his earthly home to his eternal home on Monday, July 4, 2022. The family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri when Ronnie was a young child. Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and was educated in the Jackson County public school system graduating from Lincoln High School, class of 1961. He was very active in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) during his junior and senior year of high school.

He served with distinction in the United States Air Force for four years and received an Honorable Discharge. His military assignments were at Griffiss Air Force Base, New York and DaNang, Vietnam.

Ronnie began his employment career with General Motors Leeds Plant in 1965. He was a committed and dedicated employee. After suffering a stroke in 1989, he retired on disability after 24 years of loyal service. Ronnie and Patricia Watson, who he met when assigned at Griffiss AFB, NY, were united in marriage in 1965. They had one very devoted and compassionate daughter, Lisa, who has resided all her life in Kansas City. Ronnie later had a son, Jermaine, who also resides in Kansas City, MO.

He was affectionately known as "Ron" by most of his friends. He had a zest for life. He loved wearing white clothing including white creased, pressed jeans to work year-round. He was quite the "party animal." He loved music from the 60s and 70s and all the latest dances.

Both parents and his only brother, Claude Michael Johnson, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Lisa Michelle Johnson Potts, his son, Jermaine Lavar Gadson, his sister, Cathy Eileen Davis, all of Kansas City, MO; his stepmother, Dixie Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Darian, Springfield, Illinois, and her twin brother, Deonte, Martin, Tennessee, Nikaylah and Jeremiah, both of Kansas City, MO, and Jalayah and J'Vion, both of Phoenix, Arizona, And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
