Listen to Obituary

Rose Marie (Blewett) Adams was born on January 3, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas, to the loving union of Mary and Donald Blewett. She passed away on May 15, 2025.

From an early age, Rose exuded warmth, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility—qualities that would define her life and legacy.

She began her education at Southeast High School in the early 1970's before moving to San Diego, California, where she completed her high school journey. Even as a young woman, Rose's nurturing spirit and quiet strength were evident to all who knew her.

In 1975, Rose met her soulmate, Donald Adams. Their connection was immediate and unshakable, and they went on to build a beautiful life together. Married soon after, Rose and Donald shared an enduring love that spanned 44 wonderful years. Their bond was filled with laughter, partnership, and unwavering devotion—a true love story. In a poignant twist of fate, both Rose and Donald would eventually succumb to the same form of cancer, a final testament to the deep connection they shared in both life and death.

Together, they were blessed with two beloved daughters, Tamela Jackson and Raynette Adams (Darrell Weldon), whom they raised with infinite love, wisdom, and care. Rose's greatest joy was her family, and her legacy lives on in the lives of her grandchildren: Daniel and Delvaughn Johnson, Terrance Johnson, Raykwon Adams, De’ajha and Desarae Jackson, and Taehlor and Riyah Adams. She was also blessed to witness the next generation through her three cherished great-grandchildren: Reign, Reghan, and Amari.

Rose had a heart as expansive as her smile. She devoted many years of her life as a loving daycare provider—not only to her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews but also to the children of close friends and neighbors. Her home was a place of laughter, learning, and love, where every child felt safe and special. Rose was more than a caregiver; she was a second mother to many and a source of unwavering support and guidance, especially to young and single mothers. Her words of wisdom, acts of kindness, and nurturing presence touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Adams; her parents, Donald and Mary Blewett; her brother, Ronald Blewett; her nephew, Carlos Blewett; and her great-nephew, Christian Kudra.

She leaves to cherish her memory to her loving daughters, Tamela Jackson and Raynette Adams (Darrell Weldon); her adoring grandchildren: Daniel, Delvaughn, and Terrance Johnson, Raykwon Adams, De’ajha and Desarae Jackson, Taehlor and Riyah Adams, and her precious great-grandchildren: Reign, Reghan, and Amari.

Rose is also survived by her devoted sisters: Terri Lewis, Sharon Blewett, and Angela Blewett-Wilson (Cedd), and her brother Roger Blewett (Rose), along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all the many children and families whose lives she so lovingly touched.
