Rose M. Hamilton

Rose Mary Hamilton was born July 30, 1949 to James and Mary Carolyn Sims in Ruston Louisiana. She was baptized at an early age at Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Lousiana.

Rose worked as a secretary at Sumner High School from 1970. In 1979 she started working for The Federal Bankruptcy Court. She retired in 2004. In 2005 she became an attendant for Lawrence A. Jones until her health began to fail.

Rose received her education in the Louisiana school system. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. She studied at the Kansas City Business College.

Rose united in holy matrimony to Culton Hamilton April 15, 1965. To this union 2 children were born. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1969 and united with King Solomon Baptist Church. In 1974 they moved their membership to Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In 1980 Rose became the First Lady of Sunrise Baptist Church. She directed the choirs and the male chorus until the year 2000. Rose later moved her membership to Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church. She directed the choir and male chorus. Rose started the 100 men male chorus, which was a big success for years. She later moved her membership to Forest Grove Baptist Church, Rose served as the mother board President until her health began to fail.

Her husband Rev. Culton Hamilton and father James C. Sims Sr. preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory. Her mother Mary Carolyn Lewis, two daughters Karren Hardy and Gayla Fennoy. One brother James C. Sims II, one sister June DeCoud. Six grandchildren Brittaney, Dominique,D'Mario,Darron,Demetrius and Bailey Rose. Ten great grandchildren. Two special nieces Tamika and Kimberly Garner. One brother in law Clifton Hamilton Two sister in laws Clara Burris and Cynthia Skinner. Affectionately known as her other children: Barbara Parrish,Reginald Lee,Mario Osborne and George Rhodes and the late Reginald Robinson.
