Ryan D. Carter

Ryan David Carter was born January 23, 1995, in Pomona, California to Ramon Carter and Sharon Smith (Deceased). Ryan had a very broad imagination as a small child which grew over the years, he created many cartoon characters and had a sense of humor to match his creative imagination.

He lived in California until 5th grade when his family moved to Overland Park, Kansas. Ryan attended Leawood Elementary and Leawood Middle School. Ryan played in the band and participated in Football and Track and Field. He often stated he participates in “Field” not Track because “that’s just way too much running.”

Ryan attended Blue Valley North High School and was a member of the Class of 2013. Ryan sang in the choir and was a three-sport athlete lettering in Football, Wrestling, and Track and Field. Ryan competed in Wrestling State titles throughout his high school years. He was offered numerous athletic scholarships, but his heart was always set on going to Kansas State University. In fact, Ryan loved KSU so much he decided to stay a few extra years!

Ryan displayed his artistic abilities while attending Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in DX Media in 2020. Being told by friends and family often that he was a great teacher, he completed a minor in Education.

Ryan had many interests, pets, music, cooking, horticulture, gaming, technology. He was smart and inquisitive and would pursue topics of interest with zeal. He was fun loving, outgoing, respectful, thoughtful, with a great sense of wit and humor that endeared him to many. He was a friend to everyone and often described as “a big teddy bear and a gentle giant”. To know Ryan was to love him. Ryan a Christian and a member of Ironhorse Community Fellowship is now in his forever home with his Lord and Savior.
