Sammie Johnson passed away on July 8, 2021 at Opportunity Pavilion in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on February 2, 1947 in Coreenwoods, MS to Sammie Davis Johnson and Magnolia Morehead. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Lincoln Academy High School in Kansas City.
After high school he joined the Army.
He was preceded into death by Jonas Morehead, Magnolia Morehead; siblings: Jeese Morehead, and Jonas Lee Morehead, Jr.; children: Sammie Davis Johnson Jr. He is survived by children: Trevor (Treua) Johnson, Craig Johnson; siblings: Anthony Morehead, Dorothy Jackson- Simpson, Ethel Williams, Angela Morehead, Aavon Morehead
