He was born on January 29, 1984, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Samuel Holmes III and Carlon Tilman. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and attended Wyandotte High School and later obtained his high school diploma.
He was the owner of IV, V, and VI Transportation.
Samuel was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gloria Jean Tilman; father, Samuel Holmes III; and brother, Sammy Holmes.
He is survived by his mother, Carlon Keith; sister, Shameka Holmes; brother, Durrell Jackson; children: Samuel Holmes V, Samari Na’Shay Holmes, Samuel Holmes VI, and Charisma Holmes; aunts: Rita Holmes and Sheila McCord; uncles: Tony Holmes, Manny Holmes, and Stevie McCord; nephews: Lorenzo Kimbrough Jr., Josiah Holmes-Kimbrough, Tristian Holmes Jackson, and Jeremiah Holmes-Jackson; niece, Amira Holmes; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
