Saundra M. Young

Saundra was born June 19, 1940 to the union of Forest and Emette Clark. She departed this life on March 15, 2017 in San Diego, California. Both parents, one brother; Richard Clark, one sister; Carmelita Hill, two sons; Vernon Young Jr., and Glen Young Sr., two granddaughter; LaSaundra Young and Derrica Young, two grandsons; Brian Young, and Glen Young, Jr. preceded her in death.

Saundra received her education in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District, and was a fun loving person. She accepted Christ at the age of 12, being baptized at Greystone Baptist Church. She is a member at Bethlehem Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bennie Young where she served on the Mother Board, and a faithful member in Sunday School.

She was united in marriage on June 21, 1959 to Vernon Young, and to this union, eight children were born which she loved very dearly. Saundra was not a hard person to love, and she believed in being “frank and honest,” in what she said and felt. She loved playing her tablet, Yahtzee, game puzzle, and watching TV in her spare time. She enjoyed traveling to her daughters home in California, and going on road trips with her sister.

She leaved to cherish her precious memory her husband; Vernon Young, Sr, two sons; Terry Young, and Kenneth Young (Dorothy), five daughters; Vernnetta Bell (Prince), Emette Young, Rochelle Hamilton-Robinson, Natasha Amis, Regena Young, one sister; Barbara Hill; 35 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend; Thelma Stower.
