Shanteria Antonia Richelle Mosley-Douglas was born in Kansas City, MO to Ricky Douglas and Peggye Jo Mosley on Wednesday, February 17, 1971.  She loved her older brother Christopher Mosley very much. They had an enduring sibling bond until the end of her life.

She was affectionately known as “Teri” and “Teri-Beri”.

Teri’s primary education began at Melcher Elementary School. She then attended Nowlin Middle School. She graduated from Van Horn High School in 1989. Teri furthered her education at Concorde Career Center, where she received her Medical Assistant Certificate.

Teri from her childhood until her early adulthood, attended Paradise Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, MO, where her grandmother, Bessie Dukes, was a longtime member. It was because of her grandmother's guidance and teachings that Teri was led to Christ at an early age.  She was the second charter member of Beth-Judah Ministries Church of God in Christ as well as later in life holding membership at Deliverance Temple Church of God in Christ.

On January 26, 1991, Teri gave birth to her first son, Dominique D. Mosley, “Doc”. He was her biggest inspiration and motivation. Dominique’s life was the driving force in changing Teri’s life, which ultimately helped her defeat the odds as a single mother. Teri met and married Frank H. Douglas, Jr., they divorced but remained friends. From their union, two children were born. On December 12, 1992, her one and only beautiful daughter, Bria P. Douglas was born. She grew up to be one of Teri's closet confidant, they were inseparable and she was her mother's biggest cheerleader. A few years later, Teri gave birth to her baby boy, Cameron J. Douglas, on March 18, 1995. He quickly became the joy of everyone’s life. Later on in life, Teri had the privilege of becoming a “Nana” to 3 amazing grandchildren: Rashad, Dy'mond, and Milani. Teri’s crew was complete. They shared a bond that couldn’t be broken. All 6 of them are Teri’s pride and joy.

In 2017, Teri was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. This ultimately resulted in her kidney failure. Teri was an active ambassador for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). She orchestrated a team to participate in the annual Kidney Walk in 2017 and 2018, where over 75 of her dear family and friends rallied around her. On September 3, 2019, Teri was blessed to receive a new kidney.

Throughout Teri’s life, people naturally gravitated towards her genuine and loving spirit. Because of this, she formed many life-long friendships and relationships. Whether Teri knew you from “SCLC”, “These Are They”, “Voices of Revelations”, working at T-Mobile or Apria Healthcare, just simply in passing or randomly meeting, you couldn’t help but to love her. Teri surrounded herself around family and friends she loved and who loved her as well.

Surrounded by her son and daughter, Teri transitioned life on August 24, 2021.

Teri was preceded in death by Bessie Dukes (Grandmother), Kenneth Mosley (Uncle), and Cameron Douglas (Baby Boy).

Teri leaves to honor and cherish her memory: her son, Dominique Mosley and her daughter, Bria Douglas. Her grandchildren: Rashad Mosley, Dy'mond Mosley, and Milani Douglas. Her mother, Peggye Jo Mosley and father, Ricky Douglas. Her brother: Christopher Mosley. Two nieces: Leandra Herron and Crislyn Mosley. One Nephew: Christopher Mosley, Jr. Four godchildren: Rizson Canady, Reigis Canady, Aniyah Hallums, and Charlie Shirley. Two bonus daughters: Rashay Green and Ma’Lisha Carter. Her best friend: LaShonda Canady, and a host of family and friends.
