Sharon Whiteside was born to Carl Maynard, Jr and Ida Maynard on May 14, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. On Tuesday July 22, 2025, she heard the voice of his savior saying, “Servant of God, well done, rest, from thy loved employ, the battle fought, the victory won, enter into the Master’s joy.”
Sharon was introduced to Christ and baptized at an early age. She remained strong in her Christian faith and walk in life. She was well known for sustaining her faith through the good times and the bad.
Sharon was educated in the Kansas City Public School District and was proud graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduating throughout the years, she worked in various occupations. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with family, watching westerns, and fishing.
Sharon was preceded into death by both of her parents, paternal & maternal grandparents, husband, Robert Whiteside, daughter, April Reaws, son, Willie Reaws III, sister, JoAnn Maynard, brother, Carl Maynard III, niece, Kimberly Stone, and nephew, Danny Maynard.
Sharon was an incredible woman that was dedicated to her family, a wonderful mother, a proud and doting Nanny, a beloved sister, a loving aunt, and a great friend to many. To cherish her memory, Sharon leaves behind her children, Steven Reaws (LaTisha) of Kansas City, MO. and Carmela Reaws of Gilbert, AZ; brothers, Orville Maynard (Annette) of Kansas City, MO. and Kent Maynard, of Omaha, NE; sister, Bonnie Stone-Gray (Terry), of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, D’Anthoi Oliver, Dah’Ryus Oliver, D’Muria Oliver, all of Kansas City, MO, and Alex Charlie Blythe, of Gilbert, AZ; her special friend, Bill Ethridge, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family that will greatly miss her presence, wisdom, kind-hearted nature and love.
