Shaun Chadrick Clayton

Shaun Chadrick Clayton, 39, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at home in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 9, 1986, to Glenn Scott Barnes and Heroline Nakomis Clayton. 

Shaun attended Southeast High School where he proudly played varsity football and graduated in May of 2005. He lived life marked as a strong, yet kind, optimistic and caring man. 

Shaun held long standing positions as a merchandiser for Coca-Cola and a forklift driver at Houston’s Distribution and Sioux Chief. At a young age, Shaun had dreams of becoming a firefighter for the Kansas City Fire Department. With living next door to the fire house, Shaun would often go next door to visit with the firefighters. They would sometimes help him with his homework and play board games with him, welcoming him with open arms every visit. He was a serious gamer who loved playing Xbox and had the gamer tag "KC Legend" for years. 

Shaun was very giving to others, had a great sense of humor, was always willing to help others and loved to eat. 

Shaun dedicated his life to Christ in 2022. 

He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Velma Lee Malone; his mother, Heroline Clayton; his aunt, Lisa Hood, and his brother, Anton Martin. 

Shaun leaves behind a legacy of love and will be forever missed by: his children, Shaun Jr., Luke and Talon; his life partner, Shawnaye Nolan; his father, Glenn Barnes (Kim); his grandmother, Marilyn Jones; his siblings: Marcellus Clayton, Marlon Clayton, Glenn Barnes II, Roshaunda Bell (Deric), Veronica Ogaga (Kenny), Tekyla Fountain (Bernard); his younger sisters: Ava Barnes, Sequire, Lyniah, Micah and Marshawn, who he also cared for and helped raise. 

Shaun also leaves behind an abundance of friends and family who loved him immensely. 

A "Celebration of Life" for Shaun Clayton will be held on 
Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Serenity Funeral Home, 
Visitation 10a.m., Funeral 11a.m.
