Shellie A. Edwards

Shellie Ann Edwards, 61, departed this life on August 22, 2024, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was born on September 3, 1962, in Dumas, Arkansas to Alfonzia Baker and Hazel Spratt.

Shellie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Central High School.  After high school, she attended a vocation school in Lancaster, CA, where she received a degree in business administration.  She began her career at Macc Properties in housekeeping and became the Executive Housekeeping Manager.  She worked for 30+ years until she retired.

She enjoyed skating, dancing, and reading.

She married Donald Edwards, Sr., on June 20, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Shellie was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Spratt; stepfather, Rochester Spratt; father, Alfornzia Baker; and her sister, Annette Crockett.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Vanisha Smith; her sons, Vernon Smith, and Donald Edwards; sister, Gladys Theotrice Spratt, ten grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
