Shirley Ann (Sanders) Broils, lovingly known as Shirl, was born on August 10, 1958, in Moro, Arkansas, to Levester Handley.
A graduate of Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas, class of 1976, Shirl's bright spirit shone through in everything she did.
She tied the knot with the love of her life, Bobby Broils, on August 27, 1983, in the fun-filled atmosphere of Las Vegas, Nevada. Shirley was a loving wife and mother whose heart was rooted in family. For over 20 years, she poured dedication and skill into her work as a Claims Adjuster in the insurance industry, always striving to do her best. She proudly called Katy, Texas, her second home after spending many wonderful years in Kansas City, Missouri. Shirl loved the Lord with all her heart, which was a guiding light throughout her life.
A devoted member of Concord Fortress of Hope Church, she served faithfully on the Usher Board and found great joy in it. Through her example and love, Shirley led her family to Christ. Her love for God and the church community was evident in all she did, and Shirl’s faith inspired all who knew her.she also found great joy in spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Whether traveling together, cheering at a game, or beaming with pride at dance recitals and graduations, Shirley lived for the moments that brought her family closer.
Shirl peacefully passed at home on Friday, April 19th, surrounded by her loving family. Her warmth, kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed.
