Shirley Childress

Shirley D. Childress, 72, passed away on August 30, 2021, at home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on July 6, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry J. Smith and Lugurtha Brooks. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri.

She began work for Menorah Hospital as a Registered Nurse where she worked for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her mom:Liugurtha Brooks; father: Harry J. Smith; daughter: Cheryl L. Childress; sister: Wilma Jean Thomas; brother: Richard Lee Warren.

She is survived by her sister: JoAnne Smith; her two daughters: Tia McCuney, Veronica D. Childress; son in law: Tristian McCluney; eight grandkids: De'Airra Gant, Jazmine Gant, Dre'Wolfskill, Anthony Marshall, Marquita Gant, Antranice Childress, Jomall Childress and Tyler McCluney; 20 Great- grandchildren: Marqueese, Christopher, Keimal, Jonathan, Amarian, Amirrah, Bryce, Airrell, LaVance, JaMir, Madison, Ahmar'e, Ahmad, Mazie, Olivia, Jomall Jr., Dre', Dre'Veon, Semajai, JaMiya.
