Shirley Ann Wade, 75, was born on July 28, 1949, in Holden, MO to Eldridge Jack Wade and Clarissa E. Wade. She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
In June of 1950, Shirley and her family moved to Kansas City, MO where she attended school and lived the rest of her life. Shirley worked at Hallmark Cards until she found her passion in the nursing field. In 1989 she became a CNA at Holmesdale Nursing Home, where she worked for several years until she was injured on the job. She gave her life to Christ in 1991 when she was baptized at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church by Pastor Julius Rambo.
Shirley was the baby of the bunch, very feisty and sassy, but to know her was to love her. She loved cooking, watching sports, music, and dancing, “even with her bad knee”, she would two-step like a pro! Shirley loved her family; everyone would love to be at "Aunt Shirley’s" house. Most importantly, she loved being a mother! Keona was Shirley’s miracle baby. Her pride and joy, her everything.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Keona R. Barnes, Kansas City, MO; her brother, Clyde M. Johnson, Ft. Dodge, IA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
