Shurn Brown made her transition to be with the Lord on May 3, 2025. She was one of three children that was born to the union of Floy Gene and Nathaniel Brown Sr in Kansas, Missouri on November 9,1964.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Floy Gene Brown, her son, Clarence Williams, III, her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Inez Ruth Lewis, and her paternal grandmother, Lena Mae Brown.
Shurn was a member greater Saint Matthew missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Nathan Buie, Sr. She received all her education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, which she graduated from Paseo High School in the class of 1983.
After the graduation she became employed with the Kansas Nelson Art Gallery along the side of her mother. Later in life, she started working with kindergartners to help prepare them for school until her health started to decline. Even through her illness, she continued to trust in the Lord, and kept a smile on her face.
She loved cooking for family and friends. If she was near a kitchen, best believe she was gonna be in there trying to prepare a meal. She was a type of person that would give her shirt off her back, and her last to anyone that was in need. She was a precious jewel and will truly be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons Rogel Coker, III and DeeMarrion Jones, III, her father Nathaniel Brown, Sr, brothers, Anthony Brown Sr, (Michelle ) Nathaniel Brown Jr. (Dana), grandson, Clarence, Jr, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and a very special friend.
