Shynel Thomas

Shynel "Taya" Thomas, 34, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Truman Lakewood in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

She was born on January 9, 1987 in Kansas City, Missouri to Frances Cooks. She received Christ in her life at an early age. She attended school at Don Bosco where she received her high school diploma. Tanya never worked she but spent a lot of time helping family and friends with childcare assistance.

Tanya was very outgoing and a lovable person with a loving spirit. She was an awesome mom, and her children were her everything. There was nothing she wouldn't do to take care of her children. She loved being around family and friends laughing and joking around about everything; she loved to have fun. She would call just about everybody, everyday just to check on them, especially if she knew you were sick. She never met a stranger and was always the life of the party.

Tanya was preceded in death by: her grandmother, Emma Jean Craddock; grandfather, Leonard Williams; uncle, Clarence Mulkey; cousin, Matthew "Jojo" Thierry; and great-nephew, Rah'Zion Woods.

She is survived by: her mother, Frances Cooks; three children, Arshell Dance, Ne'Vaeh Thomas, and Makari Simpson; six siblings, Leonard Mulkey (Tina), Otha Fudge Jr., Anthony Thomas, Franisha Thomas (Robert), Monice Thomas, Alisha Thomas (Dion), and Cheryl Fudge.
