Sophia Hudson - Kidd

Sophia Jeanette Hudson-Kidd was born on September 14,1974 in Kansas City, MO to Selma Jean Drane-Turner and Bob Hudson Jr. She departed this life November 19,2017 11:00 pm while receiving care at Menorah Medical Center. She graduated in 1991 from East High of the KCMO School district. She worked for several years as the Desk Supervisor at Residence Inn by Marriott. Later, went to become a Bus Operator with KCATA, she really enjoyed working with people of all ages and backgrounds she had a flare that you would have to be born with. She was a loving and caring person with a beautiful spirit. She was fascinating, she had a way of taking nothing and making something. On August 30,2006 she was united in holy matrimony to Dion Kidd Sr. She leaves to cherish Dion Kidd Sr.(husband), Brittini Hudson(daughter)Zaniiah Reliford(granddaughter), Roneisha Hudson(daughter), Davante Hudson(son), Shanequa Kidd( daughter), Dionne Kidd(daughter), Javion Kidd(daughter), Dion E Kidd, Jr(son), M'Khia Kidd(daughter), M'Ckenzie Kidd(daughter), Aaliyah Kidd(daughter), D'andresz Kidd(daughter). Selma Jean Drane-Turner (mother), Bob Hudson Jr. (father), Robin Hudson (sister), Jasmine Shans (sister), La'Trel Meade (nephew) La'Danian Meade(nephew), and host of family friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Gus and Mary Lee Drane, Leroy and Maebell Hudson, Fannie Temple (grandmother in law) and Shirley Ann Kidd (mother in law). Sophia accepted Christ at an early age while attending Starlight Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lewis C Buford. She was a God-fearing woman who did whatever she could, for you even if it was her last. She was always respectful to others and treated them the way she wanted in return. She loved the holidays, or just anytime to invite family and friends over for a cookout. She had laughter that could fill a stadium. Her personality and strength were bigger than life. She could find the silver lining through the darkest cloud. Sophia’s faith never wavered. She battled this obstacle in her life with such dignity and grace, yet she was still thinking of others. All of us could learn something from Sophia. How to love without limits, trust without doubts, understand everyone is their own special person, and love them for who they are. She had faith through it all, she would be healed; she earned her wings! We want to thank God for allowing us to have you for 43 years, and we wish it could have been longer. The true peace is that you are no longer suffering. We love you, and will forever miss you, until we meet again.
