Stanley Kent Powell passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home with his loved ones by his side in Kansas City, MO. He was born August 26, 1955, in Drew, MS to Homer Powell and Ora Jean Hughes-Powell. 

Stanley later relocated and grew up in Kansas City, MO where he graduated from Central High School in 1974. After high school he attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO where he ran track for two years. He worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) as a Construction Inspector where he retired after 26 years. He loved bowling, fishing, playing softball, and was an avid domino player (at every and any function).

On January 21, 1976, Stanley welcomed his firstborn and only son, Kevin D. Logan, into the world. He married Sally Mae Moore on July 12, 1986, they were married for 39 years and raised three beautiful daughters, Victoria S., Kendra S., and Kachina S. Powell.

Stanley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Maudie Hughes; father, Homer Powell; stepfather, Curtis Baskin; son, Kevin D. Logan Sr.; sister, Hazel Soward; brothers in-law: Marquise Williams Sr., Greg Soward Sr., Alvernon McGee Sr., Franklin D. Moore Sr., and Roy Lee Moore; five aunts, one uncle, five nephews and one niece.

Left to cherish Stanley's many wonderful memories: his mother, Ora Jean Powell-Baskin; his wife, Sally M. Powell; his daughters: Victoria S. Powell, Kendra S. Powell Moton (Dionne) and Kachina S. Powell (Los Angeles, CA); his siblings: Melvin Powell, Diane Powell, Joyce Williams, Emma Smith (Lee), Stevie O’Keith Powell, Reginald Powell, Sheila Weaver (Wiley), Mark Edwards (Emma), Judy Cordoza (Joey), Shirlese Powell, Kelvin Powell Sr. (Rischa), Curlene McDonald (Derrick), Curtis Powell Sr. (Alicia); his grandchildren: Kearra Talley, Jordyn and Tori Harris, Kevin D. Logan Jr., Kentley Solomon; his great-grandchildren: Amira, Kaizer, and Keivon Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family, and friends.
